Scheduling the lesson plans and indoor and outdoor activities is based on every single child's needs, interest and parents' requests for behavior or skill improvement. Our routine has been listed below, however, as parents are familiar with children's world, the scheduled times provided below are just estimations of our activities since every single moment demands creation of new opportunity for children to learn and interact with their surrounding. Plus the fact that we need to go with children's mood, tiredness and desire. Free play: Early morning, 2 pm, 3:30 pm Different centers and variety of activities chosen by children as follows: - dramatic play- kids' most favorite time - literacy practice by self-served reading and writing materials - building blocks - sensory table based on season, curriculum and children's requests Clean up: 8:15, 8:55, 9:15, 9:40, 10:40, 11:25, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30 pm - Potty time - Hand washing - Diaper change |
Snack/Lunch time: 8:20, 9:20, 10:55, 2:35 pm Serving the healthy food and snack including: - apple/ banana/ strawberry or any other seasonal fruits - crackers with cheese - Multigrain cheerios - milk - Vegetables: carrots, broccoli, tomato, cucumber Circle time: 9-9:15, 3:05-3:20 - singing songs - reading books - practicing having interaction - talking about weather, season and general topics - practicing alphabet, numbers and simple words Art activity or Music: 8:35-8:55 am It varies based on the discussed subject in the circle time, kids and parents' requests and interests. Outdoor play: 9:50-10:40 The big backyard gives children lots of space to easily go around and have fun, some activities can be done as follows: - play with sand - riding bike - blowing bubbles - playing with water/snow based on the season - painting rocks/wood with watercolours - painting the ground with water and brush - planting and gardening Relaxing time is between 11:30-2 pm based on children's needs; it can be a very short, 30-minute, relaxing on the floor for older children to a longer nap for younger ones. For those who have short relaxing time, variety of child-led activities based on their interest and desire are offered, such as play with sand, play dough, paint, colouring, puzzle, etc. More about April Daycare We are proud of working closely with parents/guardians by offering the following supports: - flexible hours of operation to go hand in hand with parents' busy schedule - affordable rates and being approved by government for Childcare fee reduction ($200/Month for infant/toddler care and $60/Month for 3yrs to Kindergarten) - assisting with Affordable Childcare Benefit application form |
